Sacred Valley

Outfit Details

Sacred Valley Blanket Flare
Olivia Wedge
Cropped Raglan

I love when I find a statement piece I can look at and say, "I want to wear that with everything!"  These jeans are that statement piece.  I've been able to dress them up with a great halter bodysuit and long layered jewelry, or dress them down with a raglan tee and my favorite wedges.

I grew up flipping through photos of my Mom and my Aunt in the 60's and 70's looking as happy as ever and wearing the most unique clothing.  From denim jumpsuits to parachute pants, these decades have it all and I am happy to say when I put these pants on in front of my mother she gasped and said "I used to have that."  It feels incredible to connect with her on a level of fashion and memory. I could sit around all day and listen to her stories of sneaking out at night just to do nothing with her friends.  A simpler time for living, and exceptional time for fashion.

Self Love and Local Wolves Mag

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

This month Kelly and I were featured in the latest issue of Local Wolves Magazine.  I was overjoyed when they told us our feature would be a part of their "Self Love" issue.  Self Love hits home with me because it's something I worked hard to get to.
It's not always easy to love yourself.  We are constantly comparing ourselves to others and reflecting on what we don't have, instead of looking at what we do.  For a long time I was extremely self conscious of my curves.  I was always looking at other girls, especially other bloggers with slim figures and trying hard to slim down and fit a mold.  Finally I realized that my curves set me apart and are NOT "abnormal".  They are now one of my favorite features of myself.  Finding love for myself set me free and lifted a weight off of my shoulders, and helps me to find love for others.

To check out the mag follow this link: Local Wolves and our feature begins on page 87!

There's nothing in this world like a good graphic tee, and might I just say that Top Knot Goods has some of my favorites.  The graphics are unique and not overdone, and tees are so perfectly soft!  You can get them in either a Tee or a Tank and the sizes are Unisex.  I feel like this Grocery Bag Tank that states "No Rest for the Rad" perfectly sums up my life lately.  I've been all over the place between work and friends and working on spreads for a couple of magazines that I've barely had time to blog, but finally here I am!  I have a few shoots lined up for the next couple of weeks so hopefully I won't have another lull.  Also look for a spread Kelly and I did for Local Wolves Mag in their upcoming Self Love Issue!

Love Me Like What

Untitled

Outfit Details:

Love Me Like What Dress
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Delilah Bolo Tie

This week I met up with local photographer Cole Locurto.  Cole and I shot a few months ago and I was so excited to work with him again!  We spent the morning exploring downtown St. Augustine, stumbling upon the most perfect locations.  This dress is from the most recent Free People catalog and it's one that I immediately needed to have.  The styling in the catalog is great, and it's such a versatile piece I can't wait to see what else I can do with it and take it in to Fall with me.

American Made

Outfit Details

Shirt: Vintage
Shorts: Urban Outfitters Urban Renewal
Hat and Sunglasses: Free People
Boots: Pskaufman

This hot-hot heat has turned my every day wardrobe in to cut-up tanks and cut-off shorts.  This shirt has a special story.  When I first moved to Jacksonville, wow 5 years ago, I worked at a little vintage store in our Riverside area.  I started dressing mannequins and helping with merchandising there which is where I fell in love with my current position.  Many of the locals that worked in the area would pop their head in from time to time to tell me how much they enjoyed my outfitting.  One man in particular complimented me, and I in turn complimented him on his awesome vintage tee.  Weeks later he dropped off the most amazing suit case I have ever laid my eyes on.  It was covered in vintage band stickers, beaten, dragged through the dirt and simply one-of-a-kind.  Inside was the real treat.  An array of shirts just as beaten and perfect as the suit case.  This is one that I ended up with, courtesy of this man.  The softness of vintage tees never ceases to amaze me, and I feel like I own a true piece of American history.
